first of all, happy birthday to all those october kids, especially aliceee (my sister, and she actually has more "e"s than that). and now, here comes another mindless rant by yours truly, since i know how much you all love those. jk. i hope
today began like any other tuesday morning. i woke up to the sounds of traffic and obnoxiously loud birds, and got ready for another (less than) exciting day of work. my situation there has slightly improved, in that i asked for less work hours. which should give me enough time to eat home cooked rice instead of constantly spending money on fast food.
luckily, i was allowed to leave work at 1 o'clock like promised (actually i just ran away because they wanted me to stay longer). it was a good thing that there was leftover rice in the fridge since i was really hungry by then and i could just microwave it. i came back, showered, wore nice dry clothes, and looked in the kitchen.
as predicted it was a mess, filled with empty, dirty glasses all around the counter, dishes piling up in the sink, and the garbage on the point of exploding from trash. there was really no problem with it, as long as i could find just one clean dish, cup, and silverware to eat my food with. then i would just wash them all when i finished eating and throw away the garbage on my way out. what i didn't predict was that there was absolutely no clean dish or cup to use.
not to be too modest or anything, i have to say that i have a really high tolerance and patience for these small annoyances (small being a shitload of dishes that constantly need to be washed). in fact, i even wash dishes when i'm drunk at parties, which may seem awkward at times but nonetheless helpful in certain scenarios. i'm not to exactly sure why, but i somehow managed to get really FUCKING PISSED OFF at having to wash all these dishes just so i can eat one simple plate of rice. but since i like to analyze things instead of jumping into irrational conclusions, i have come up with a decent explanation of my now irritable state:
thursday 10/12: i wash all the dishes in the evening, so skot (my roommate) and his new roommate (girlfriend) has some clean dishes to use for the weekend. the kitchen is cleaner than usual. before i head off on my adventure skot reminds me that our electric bill is $153 and something cents. (wtf?). i leave.
friday 10/13 - sunday 10/15: i was gone from my apartment, staying at a friend's place the whole weekend so i can hang out and study. it was fun. i figured out how to make my own bubble milk tea drink.
monday 10/16: i finally return home in the morning to take a quick shower and return to campus to go to class for the rest of the day. in the evening i come home, only to find the kitchen in its original dirty ass state. also, when i sit down to use my computer which i haven't been able to touch in the past few days, someone demands more toilet paper, since apparently there is none left. because i only have a few cash on me, and i recently lost my debit card, i hestitantly agreed to buy more. i ponder on why our electric bill is so expensive and how we ran out of toilet paper so fast as i walk to the grocery store.
tuesday 10/17: i return home from work and realize that absolutely nothing has changed. the ac is left on, there is loud music playing on a computer that probably needs mad dosage power in order to run it, and a broken window screen is now sitting inside our apartment. and of course, messy kitchen scene. i proceed to wash dishes, which literally take me about an hour (and more?), and i still am not finished because halfway through i ran out of detergent. my spare cash has already took a heavy hit from buying toilet paper, but i still go to the store to buy some dishwashing liquid. i have no money now. i still have not eaten anything yet. i am fucking angry.
i'm probably going to campus to study or solve a sudoku puzzle at the library (getting really into those now). give me a call if you want to feed me. please

you seem to get some pretty sucky roommates. why don't you get a single dorm next year/semester?? the parents won't mind paying for it if it will avoid all that trouble, i'm sure.
yea eric, im a sucky roommate i suppose.
look, ill try and clean up the dishes right after i cook - but please dont think that you're the only one that does do dishes. The night I made that pork I must have cleaned up the kicthen for 40 minutes. Tell me about this stuff so we can talk about it rather then letting it build up inside and letting me find out about it from 3rd party sources.
skot
man, i hope things get better for you. And for the electricity costs and all that, don't forget to turn your A/C off when no one is at home. And it will be pretty cool these next couple of months, so you can open your window instead of turning on the A/C. The computers and your light sources usually don't contribute too much to your bill, but just for the sake of saving money, just turn them off if you don't need it.
i hope you guys work it out. we ALL have roommate problems. you know eric you coulda called me so we could have that dinner hang-out like we planned... or at least i planned... i always have food if you want to come over. or are you still hiding from me??!?!??!?!
