a contemplation of current situations

i'm sitting at the library, drinking a tall can of iced coffee that cost me $2.44. this is the first coffee drink i've had all semester, and it is quite good. now that i think about it, i haven't had any coffee for about a year now. it's not that i don't enjoy it, i just find it extremely overpriced. and i think it helps me stay awake when i don't have time to take a quick nap. which is the current situation now...

...because i just realized that there was a psychology test tomorrow that i completely forgot about the entire weekend. i was reminded of it when this random girl i met at the library text messaged me a few hours ago, asking if we were still going to study for this test. i couldn't believe that for one i forgot about a test on monday and two, i forgot about my "library date" for this evening. and i was going to sleep really early tonight too, since i finished an intense game of capture the flag earlier today...

...which made me realize how a little competition can really bring out the "worst" in some people. kind of like playing super smash brothers or warcraft, especially when i lose to the most ridiculous random ways. but i try my best to hide it, among other things that particularly aggravate me...

...like my paycheck. getting paid $6 an hour is pretty bad to try and cover rent, bills, and food, especially when you work part time. but i came across some information at work one day that instead of the assumed "grooming assistant/bather" position that i thought i was in (which has a pay of 6 an hour), i was actually a "sales associate" (who get paid 7). a one dollar difference doesn't seem like much of a big deal, but in the long run i get cheated out of about 50 dollars per pay check. i'm debating whether to just write a two weeks notice and wait it out or just simply give my boss the finger and say "i quit". i'm leaning towards the second option the more i think about it. working at petco really sucks. i wonder if other jobs in the future will be as retarded as this one...

...but i can only hope for the best in the future. and i just finished this can of iced coffee. it was quite chilly.
